President Jokowi Met His Friends During His Lecture At UGM Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - President Jokowi met his friends while studying at the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, Sunday.

Based on a press release received in Jakarta, Sunday night, Jokowi arrived at around 09.00 WIB in the Ambarukmo Area, Sleman Regency, on Sunday, and chatted casually with his friends during college.

This morning I went to Yogya, then stopped by Ambarukmo, met with my friends as students. Some were in Perhutani, some were lecturers, entrepreneurs, and at the office, these were all kinds of things. When I got together today I met, but I only needed a moment, not long ago," said President Jokowi as quoted by Antara.

In his statement after the meeting, President Jokowi explained that his friends during college whom he met came from different regions ranging from Sabang to Merauke. At the meeting, Jokowi and his friends reminisced about the moments during college that were immortalized through the camera at that time.

(I saw) photos at graduation, there were photos at Mapala (nature lovers). I myself have lost the photos, but it turns out that my friends still keep everything complete," he added.

On that occasion, a friend of Tommy's college, said that the photo shown to President Jokowi was a photo while climbing Mount Kerinci. Even though the album shown was old, said Tommy, there was still a clear photo of President Jokowi's graduation moment with his friends in 1985.

"This 1985 is a photo of graduation time. At that time, Pak Jokowi graduated with several class friends, November 1985. The entry of 1980, his graduation was 1985," said Tommy.

Tommy explained that President Jokowi's character from the beginning when he was a student until now has remained the same. Tommy thinks that President Jokowi remains a wise person and is not easily offended when he is joking.

"Mr. Jokowi, during his time as a student with his current condition, is still more or less the same. One, never get angry, availability. Even if we agree (to joke), it's simple, just joke. If you are offended, never get angry, advise us it's normal," he continued.

Meanwhile, friends during another college remember President Jokowi as a disciplined person. Like Bambang, a colleague of the President's rank who remembers the President as a person who is diligent in worship.

That's what I remember. The person is diligent, so when I went to college I issued a permit just to pray, "said Bambang.

In addition, Bambang remembers President Jokowi as unifying the existing student groups at that time. Through the Mapala organization at its faculty, according to Bambang, the President has united these groups through mountain climbing activities.

Mr. Jokowi is unifying. There used to be groups, there were HMI, GMNI, and white, but he who brought it together in the Silvagama forum continued to climb the mountain together. That's what continues to be compact," he said.
