Update On COVID-19 As Of October 16: New Cases 1,326, Most Of DKI Jakarta Followed By West Java

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 today.

A total of 37,017 specimens were examined with the results of 1,326 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,456,868 people and active cases have decreased by 48 cases to 17,213 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Sunday, October 16.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,362 cases, bringing the total to 6,281,342 recovered people. Then, positive confirmation who died was 12 and a total of 158,313 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 518 cases and a total of 1,435,287 cases. Followed by West Java with 200 new cases with a total of 1,184,133 cases. East Java has 169 new cases and a total of 608,291 cases.

Then, Banten with 123 new cases and a total of 339 534 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 590 recovered cases.

Followed by East Java with an additional 191 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 152 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 135 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 71,202,620.

"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 6.25 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 2,288 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,768,553 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination, and 171,409,459 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination (booster) was 64,311,935 and the fourth dose was 649,892.

Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
