JAKARTA - The arrest and determination of the suspect, Inspector General of Police Teddy Minahasa, in a drug abuse case, according to Trisakti University criminal law expert Abdul Fickar Hadjar, is part of self-cleaning at the National Police institution.

"This step must also be placed as part of cleaning the police," said Abdul Fickar Hadjar in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, October 15 quoted by Antara. He assessed that the action of the National Police to ensnare the two-star general was based on sufficient evidence. Inspector General Pol. Teddy Minahasa is suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking network by embezzling 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine evidence. "Without neglecting the presumption of innocence, I think the Police's actions suspect Inspector General Pol. Teddy is already based on the prerequisites for sufficient evidence," he asserted.

Previously, Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) supported the National Police in arresting its members who were involved in drug cases. One of the members arrested was Inspector General Pol. Teddy Minahasa.

"IPW supports the National Police in eradicating drugs and indiscriminately brushing its members. No exception at the level of high-ranking officers," said IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso. IPW also urged the National Police Chief Gen. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to explore the relationship between the existing drug network because it is impossible for a high-ranking officer to only use it without knowing the supply network or drug dealer. on the other hand, the National Police Chief is obliged to conduct periodic urine tests among high-ranking officers and middle-ranking police officers. This is an early detection and effort to prevent abuse among the police as law enforcers.
