JAKARTA - The Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI) stated that there needs to be further investigations by all health workers to diagnose acute kidney failure which is currently a lot about children.
“ IDAI collects information from all IDAI branches throughout Indonesia, to report cases found. We received reports from our members, so the data will be different from data from the Ministry of Health from hospitals because this is the basis for the member report,” said IDAI Chairman Piprim Basarah Yanuarso, which was followed online, Antara, Friday, October 14.
Piprim emphasized further investigations because until today the exact cause of the disease has not been known.
In addition, IDAI together with the Ministry of Health are still trying to compile data from various existing provinces.
Although IDAI from mid-September to 14 October 2022 through branches has collected data, the number of reported cases has not been able to represent all existing cases. Several hospitals or provinces have not even been able to report cases.
“Kayak di Jawa Timur, kami tidak ada laporan dan baru ada 16 provinsi. Jadi data akan selalu dinamis, akan selalu update supaya yang kita lakukan mulai dari infeksi, kemungkinan inkisasi kami mencari,” ujar dia.
Therefore, as a form of mitigation of acute kidney failure that attacks children, Piprim said that IDAI will continue to collect data on the discovery of acute kidney failure cases by deploying all branch IDAI members.
IDAI will also continue to coordinate science from related experts such as the work unit for the coordination of nephrology, infection, emergency and intensive care of children and the Task Force for Handling COVID-19.
" “ We have coordinated since a few months ago, as soon as the case emerged we immediately coordinated," he said.
Piprim also asked every expert to be able to provide internal recommendations to all IDAI members regarding the vigilance of acute kidney failure in children who are dynamic in nature, following changes in the causes and results of evaluation of treatment.
Piprim stated that IDAI continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Health regarding the updating of cases of progressive acute kidney failure disorders, in terms of investigative support, therapy and education for all parents and families.
Finally, IDAI even makes a reporting media for members related to progressive diagnosis and kidney failure therapy. Where reports can be sent via the link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIPQLSe-0B5m4j8KQqDPMwcwX56Ghpr4okk3oL-ERT5AAM_rzuw1MA/viewform
Then Piprim asked all health workers and health care facilities to continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and the local Health Service, by actively reporting cases.
"Please also monitor the symptoms of acute kidney failure during treatment or educate the public for danger, when the patient is in an outpatient period," he said.
