KPK: Lukas Enembe Rugi If Not Fulfilled Calls Investigators

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said Papua Governor Lukas Enembe would lose if he did not fulfill the investigator's summons. The reason is that this moment could be an opportunity to defend himself in the alleged corruption that ensnared him. "Indeed, when LE or his legal advisor were not present, it was a loss," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in Bogor, West Java, Friday, October 14. "Why is it because he has been given space and place but did not use that opportunity," he continued. The KPK reminded Lukas to fulfill his second summons as a suspect if the letter had been submitted. Ali ensured that his party would not hesitate to carry out forced pick-up if the regional head was not present. Moreover, the KPK has the authority to forcibly pick up suspects who have been absent from the summons three times. "Forced officers are allowed, yes, according to criminal procedural law when witnesses or suspects are legally summoned three times or the third time and then absent," he said. However, the anti-corruption commission continues to monitor conditions in Papua before carrying out forced pick-up to maintain conduciveness. It is hoped that this action will not make the situation there heat up. As previously reported, the KPK named Lukas Enembe as a suspect. However, the case that ensnared him has not been detailed. Lukas will actually be questioned on Monday, September 26 at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. However, this examination was failed because Lukas admitted he was sick and could not provide information. Furthermore, the KPK will return to make summons that have not been informed for sure. Lukas was asked to cooperate in fulfilling the training of KPK investigators because his statement was needed to make clear the allegations of corruption that occurred. However, recently Lukas' attorney, Aloysius Renwarin, asked for this investigation to be stopped. He claims the Papuan people want the case to be resolved traditionally.
