JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said Indonesia would do its best to make the G20 Presidency successful this year even though the conditions were not easy, because the results of the G20 work were awaited by the world community.

Foreign Minister Retno said, Indonesia will continue to make preparations to hold the G20 Summit on November 15-16 in Bali, both for substance and logistics issues.

"In extraordinary conditions, innovation is needed in discussions, or new ways so that discussions do not stop," continued Foreign Minister Retno.

Foreign Minister Retno further explained that discussions at the summit would not be easy and full of dynamics. He said, under normal conditions, G20 negotiations were never easy, especially in the current conditions.

"Indonesia's job as president, managing extraordinary dynamics does not damage the entire G20 building. This is not just the G20, Indonesia thinks long for the world. That the G20 must not fail, because the work of the G20 is awaited by the world community," said Foreign Minister Retno.

"In difficult times like today, the G20 is one of the world's economic forums that can still work to respond to the current crisis. The stakes are very big if the G20 fails," said Foreign Minister Retno.

Foreign Minister Retno added, since the beginning of the presidency, Indonesia has emphasized the importance of concrete work so that the work results can be felt by the world.

"We are optimistic that the G20 will produce concrete, concrete work results," he said.
