KEPRI - A member of the Regional House of Representatives of Kuantan Singingi Regency in Riau Province with the initials RN who is suspected of abusing methamphetamine was decided to undergo rehabilitation at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Riau Province.

Head of the Riau Province BNN Brigadier General Robinson Siregar said RN was undergoing rehabilitation after undergoing a prison sentence of about two months.

"It is true, the case in question has been transferred to the Riau Police on Wednesday, October 5," said Robinson in Pekanbaru, Riau, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 12.

Based on the results of the doctor's consideration, Robinson said the results of the medical assessment of RN showed outpatient rehabilitation due to drug abuse.

"The results of the medical assessment must be outpatient at the Riau BNNP. RN must undergo an outpatient process eight times," he said.

Previously, a member of the local DPRD with the initials RN was arrested by the Drug Investigation Unit of the Kuantan Singingi Police on August 8, 2022. Arrests related to alleged drug abuse of methamphetamine.

During the arrest, RN was brought by Kuantan Police officers for a urine test. However, after being tested the results were negative.

In addition, the police also did not find any evidence of drugs in RN. RN was finally released.

However, on his way to the Profession and Security Division, the Riau Regional Police examined the Daily Executive Head of the Kuansing Police Narcotics Unit Ipda Iwan Siagian regarding the release of RN.

Ipda Iwan was finally sentenced to seven years of demotion in an ethics trial for being proven to have released RN, who is an alleged drug abuser.
