Central Java - Police arrested six perpetrators of the beating of a young man in Semarang City, Central Java (Central Java). The young man died after being treated for several days at the hospital.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Donny Lumbantoruan said the unfortunate incident that killed victim Ichrom Tacchinardi (20) a resident of Muktiharjo Kidul, Semarang City, occurred on Jalan Medoho Raya, Semarang, on Tuesday, October 2, 2022.

He said the incident itself began when two groups of youths met at a cafe at the crime scene.

"It is suspected that it started with mutual lyrics between the two groups," he said, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 11.

The two groups then chased each other around in front of SMK PGRI on Jalan Medoho.

The victim was targeted by the beating after it was suspected that he was left behind when his group fled.

The six suspects who were arrested were DBP (22) and HYP (21) residents of Tembalang, IH (18) and BMP (18) residents of Gayamsari, RSP (30) residents of Candisari, and IBP (23) residents of Central Semarang.

The perpetrators themselves are suspected of ganging up on the victim using stones and wood while trying to escape using a motorbike.

The victim was found injured by residents in front of the Central Java Grand Mosque complex on Jalan Gajah Raya, Semarang City.

The victim herself was immediately rushed to the hospital for help.

According to him, the victim died while being treated at the hospital due to injuries to the head.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings that resulted in the death of a person.
