ODGJ di Johar Baru Jakpus ditetapkan warga usai abuseya pengendara motor

JAKARTA - A female motorcyclist became a victim of abuse by a man with a mental disorder (ODGJ) at an ojek base, Johar Baru area, Central Jakarta, Monday 10 October. Local residents who saw the incident immediately arrested the perpetrators.

Residents were forced to tie their hands to prevent acts of violence from happening again. The perpetrator had abused a female motorcyclist by hitting him and falling from the motorbike he was driving.

Residents who had emotions almost beat the perpetrators, but were prevented after learning that the man had a mental disorder.

Roni (41), one of the local residents, said that the perpetrator attacked one of the motorcyclists. The beating of the female rider was dispersed by a number of residents who saw it.

"Earlier, the motorcyclist was suddenly beaten by a madman. The victim is known to want to go to work," said Roni, Monday, October 10.

Meanwhile, Head of Social Rehabilitation (Resos) of the Central Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept., Hendri said that the perpetrator had been taken to the Duren Sawit Regional Special Hospital (RSKD), East Jakarta.

"Our officers had brought the ODGJ to get further social services and guidance," he said.
