President Jokowi Lantik Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X So Person Number 1 In Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially inaugurated Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Aryo (KGPAA) Paku Alam X at the State Palace, as Governor and Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta for the 2022-2027 term.

Before taking the oath, President Jokowi first handed over an excerpt from the presidential decree (SK) to the governor and deputy governor of DIY at the Merdeka Palace.

After the process, the President accompanied by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian together with Sri Sultan HB X and Paku Alam X conducted a carnival for the inauguration at the State Palace.

Upon arrival at the State Palace, Sri Sultan HB X and Paku Alam X were inaugurated based on Presidential Decree Number 90 P of 2022 concerning Ratification, Dismissal, and Determination of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta for the 2022-2027 term.

"Sentifying the determination in the position from the time of swearing in promises," said Deputy for Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of State Secretariat Nanik Purwanti who read out the president's decree.

Furthermore, Sri Sultan HB X and Paku Alam X read the oath of office before the President.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill my obligations as governor and deputy governor as well as possible and fairly, uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible, and serve the community, homeland and nation," said Sri Sultan KB X and Paku Alam X.

Also attending the inauguration were the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and a number of other officials.
