Jokowi Appointed Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi As Head Of LKPP Today

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will inaugurate the Mayor of Semarang Hendrar Prihadi as Head of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) today, Monday 10 October morning.

Hendrar replaced the previous Head of LKPP, Azwar Anas, who had been appointed Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) on September 7, 2022. The inauguration of Hendrar took place at the State Palace in Jakarta.

"It is true (Hendrar Prihadi) will be sworn in at 09.30 WIB," said an internal source of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 10.

Hendrar Prihadi is known to have served as Deputy Mayor of Semarang for the 2010-2012 period. He was then appointed as acting Mayor of Semarang in 2012, after the then Mayor of Semarang Soemarmo HS was disabled due to a bribery case against members of the Semarang City House of Representatives for Fiscal Year 2012.

The PDI-P politician was later inaugurated as the definitive Mayor of Semarang in 2013-2015. He advanced again as the incumbent and won the 2015 Semarang City Election in pairs with Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu to serve in the 2016-2021 period.

In 2019 Hendrar received an award as one of the best mayors in Asia (Asia Best Mayor Of The Year 2019 at the Asia Global Award 2019) from the Asia Global Council (Indonesian Global Council).

LKPP itself is currently reforming the product screening business process in Electronic Catalog and achieving the target of showing 1 million products in Electronic Catalog, including encouraging micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) products to enter the electronic catalog.
