DPW Starts Proposal Of Name, PPP: Presidential Candidates Will Be Determined In The National Working Meeting (Mukernas Awal 2023)

JAKARTA - PPP has stated that it will determine the name of the presidential candidate (candidate) from its party in the PPP National Working Conference (Mukernas) which is planned to be held in early 2023. This was conveyed by PPP Deputy Chairperson Arsul Sani in response to the DPC-DPW which began proposing the names of presidential candidates. "Later at the right time in early 2023, the PPP Mukernas forum will be narrowed down to names or make short lists of presidential and vice presidential candidates," said Arsul, Monday, October 11. Arsul explained that currently the PPP DPP is still conducting an aspirations for regional and branch administrators to determine the figure of the presidential candidate to be carried in the 2024 Simultaneous Election.

"We are a bottom-up approach, we are open as part of the calculation of the internal democratic process at PPP," he explained.

According to Arsul, the dynamics that occur in determining the name of the presidential candidate is a natural thing. Because, he said, the DPP did release regional administrators to submit the recommendations of the presidential candidate based on their respective deliberations.

"So it doesn't need to be surprised that there is a party structure under the DPP that voices different support regarding the person who will be carried by PPP in the presidential election," he said.

Previously, the Regional Working Conference (Mukerwil) of the East Java PPP DPW recommended 10 names of presidential candidates to be carried in the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.

The ten names are options based on the calculation of the votes of the East Java PPP Mukerwil participants.

Deputy Chairperson of the East Java PPP DPW Mujahid Ansori said, among the 10 names, Ganjar Pranowo was the top proposed by each DPC representative.

There are 10 names of presidential candidates that we propose to the DPP. I don't count the most, but the name Ganjar (Pranowo) is the most mentioned," said Mujahid Ansori, Sunday, October 9.

Meanwhile, the Banten PPP DPW proposed Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate, a number of Yogyakarta PPP figures proposed Sandiaga Uno, as well as several cadres who wanted Anies Baswedan to be promoted.
