Inter-village Liaison Bridge In 4 East Aceh District Damaged By Floods

ACEH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province stated that a number of bridges connecting between villages in the district were damaged due to flooding. Head of BPBD East Aceh Regency, Ashadi, said the damaged bridge was in the Indra Makmu District, Peureulak District, Nurussalam District, and Julok District. "We are still recording infrastructure damage due to flooding, including bridges. For temporary data, the damaged bridge is in four sub-districts," said Ashadi in East Aceh, Antara, Sunday, October 9. Ashadi said the bridge damaged by the flood was the connecting bridge between Alue Ie Mirah Village and Suka Makmu Village in Indra Makmu District. Then, the connecting bridge between Pelita Sagop Jaya Village and Julok Rayeuk Utara Village in Julok District. And a bridge connecting between villages in Nurussalam District. Based on temporary data, said Ashadi, floods hit 19 villages spread across seven sub-districts. Floods occurred due to rain and the overflow of a number of rivers. The sub-districts that were hit by floods, namely Ranto Peureulak District, consisting of two villages, Seumanah Jaya Village and Seumali Village, Simpang Ulim District covering Tupin Breuh Village. Then, Jambo Reuhat Village in Banda Alam District, Pante Bidari District includes Sijudo Village, Blang Seunong Village, and Pante Labu Village, and Nurussalam District covering Alue Siwah Serdang Village. Furthermore, Birem Bayeun District includes Paya Tampah Village, Paya Bili 2 Village, Alue Mosquito Village, Alue Canang Village, Bayeun Village, Alue Gadeng 2 Village, and Paya Bili 2 Village. "And in Indra Makmu District, it includes Julok Rayeuk Selatan Village, Julok Rayeuk Utara Village, Pelita Sagop Jaya Village, and Alue Ie Mirah Village," said Ashadi. Meanwhile, Indra Makmu sub-district head Muhammad Arif said that three bridges connecting villages in his area were broken and badly damaged due to flooding. "Currently, motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles cannot pass through the three bridges. The bridge shoulder collapsed due to flooding," said Muhammad Arif. Muhammad Arif said he had visited the location of the damaged bridge. He has also reported the damage to the bridge connecting the village to the relevant agencies. "We have also asked the village government to record damage to infrastructure and public facilities, including public houses due to flooding," said Muhammad Arif.
