ACEH UTARA - The Education and Culture Office of North Aceh Regency stated that 4,672 students in the area were closed due to schools being affected by flooding. Head of the Education and Culture Office of North Aceh Regency, Jamaluddin, said 26 schools were closed covering 19 elementary schools (SD) and seven junior high schools (SMP). "The flooding that has occurred since the last two days has submerged and damaged a number of school facilities, so teaching and learning activities are temporarily closed," said Jamaluddin in North Aceh, Antara, Friday, October 7. The schools that were closed were spread across Lhoksukon District, Matang Kuli District, Pirak Timu District, Baktiya District, and Samudera District. "Currently, the Education and Culture Office of North Aceh Regency has established a command post to record further school facilities damaged by flooding," said Jamaluddin. Jamaluddin said the flood submerged 219 classrooms, offices, laboratories, libraries and others inundated by floods. As well as impacting 450 teaching staff or teachers and staff.
