AMBON - The Maluku High Prosecutor's Office found an element of alleged corruption in the budget for the construction of the Rumbatu-Manusa road in Inamosol District, West Seram Regency, for the 2018 budget year worth Rp31 billion. "The findings of this alleged corruption element are known based on the results of expert assessments and after a series of investigations in the form of data collection and information," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the Maluku High Prosecutor's Office, Triono Rahyudi when confirmed by reporters in Ambon, Antara, Friday, November 7. The investigation into this alleged corruption case has been carried out by the Maluku Prosecutor's Office team since early 2022 by conducting a series of investigations and gathering information and data in the field. Furthermore, the prosecutor's office involved a team of experts to calculate the volume and assessment of the progress of project work in the field. "That's why the case has been raised to an investigation status and immediately summoned a number of parties closely related to the project to be questioned as witnesses, such as the West Seram Regency PUPR Office and project contractors," said Triono. Triono said the Maluku Prosecutor's Office would work transparently in handling various cases of alleged corruption, including road construction projects in West Seram Regency, whose budget reached Rp31 billion. Protesters demanded that the Head of the West Seram PUPR Service, Thomas Wattimena, led by PT BSA as the contractor in the project, be transparent on the construction of the unfinished road.
