JAKARTA - The Malang Regency Government emphasized that the cost of treating victims of the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy, Malang Regency, East Java, was fully borne by the government.

Malang Regent M Sanusi said the maintenance costs borne by the Malang Regency Government included ambulance costs that delivered bodies to various areas in East Java.

"All financing is borne by the Malang Regency Government, including our ambulance costs are free," said Sanusi, Thursday, October 6, quoted from Antara.

There was information circulating that an officer delivering the body to Jember asked the family for Rp. 2.5 million. Sanusi Regent said that services from the Kanjuruhan Regional General Hospital (RSUD) for victims of Kanjuruhan were free of charge.

According to him, if there are officers who ask for some money for the cost of delivering the body, it will be returned to the victim's family. The Malang Regency Government said that the free treatment if the victim was treated at a hospital owned by the local government.

"If it's from the district, I'll tell it to return it. But, if it's another ambulance (private) I don't know. However, if we have it, we will definitely be free," he said.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD emphasized that the government would not only provide compensation for the victims who died in the deadly tragedy of the Kanjuruhan Malang Stadium. Because, for the injured victims, later the cost of treatment will be borne by the state.
