JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NasDem) DPP Willy Aditya considers the resignation of a number of post-determination cadres of Anies Baswedan as presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election as a dynamic of democracy. Willy said his party appreciates the attitude of the cadres who have resigned because it is not in line with the decision of the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, who chose Anies as a presidential candidate. "We respect that friends must have a basis and reason why they should resign, and that's legal," said Willy in Jakarta, Thursday, October 6. According to Willy, the entry and exit of cadres in a political party is a common thing in a democratic system. "They enter NasDem without being forced, as well as when deciding to leave. We are all adults who can make their own choices and attitudes," said Willy. Willy did not feel surprised that many political party members had switched to other political parties, including his party cadres. Moreover, he said, ahead of the election and the presidential election. "Many are members of NasDem, but some are out. This is usually the dynamics leading up to the General Election and Presidential Election," he added. Willy emphasized that the NasDem Party's decision to carry the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan as the 2024 presidential candidate was unanimous. He admitted that the announcement of the presidential candidate made by Surya Paloh was also unable to satisfy all parties. "Every choice will certainly not satisfy all parties. It is the law of this life. So all the reactions and consequences that existed after yesterday's declaration have been realized by the party," he said. Even so, the member of the DPR invited other NasDem cadres to work hand in hand to fight for each other in winning the 2024 election contestation. "This is the decision that has been taken. We must not recede backwards," said Willy. "The most important thing of a struggle is not just victory, but seriousness in fighting for what has been set. Victory is just a bonus of a struggle," he added. It is known that the Head of the Department of MSME Division of the NasDem Party DPP, Niluh Djelantik, resigned. After that, Agung Ngurah Panji Astika's son also decided to withdraw from the NasDem Party. Panji Astika had served as Deputy Chair of the Executive Relations Division at the NasDem DPW Bali. Just like Niluh Djelantik, the reason Panji Atika resigned from NasDem was Anies Baswedan's candidacy.
