Mahfud MD Calls TGIPF Will Care All Parties Regarding Malang's Tragedy

JAKARTA - The Independent Joint Fact Finding Team (TGIPF) of the tragedy of the Malang Kanjuruhan Stadium has been working since Tuesday, October 4, yesterday. TGIPF conducted an analysis and preparation of the report until Sunday, October 9, next.

TGIPF chairman Mahfud MD said TGIPF would meet all relevant parties, starting from preparations, competitions, riots, post-construction and handling of victims.

"The team will meet. Thus, it will be known in what section, who did what, and who was responsible for the riots, and how it should be handled based on the rules and provisions of a football match," said Mahfud MD in his statement, Wednesday night, October 5.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD also accompanied President Jokowi to visit patients who were still being treated at various hospitals in Malang. In addition to visiting patients, the government also provides compensation to the families of the victims.

In addition to obtaining information and input from related parties in the field, TGIPF also opens access to information and receives input from various parties.

Previously, Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman handed over the entire process of searching for actual facts to the Independent Fact Findings Joint Team (TGIPF) regarding the presence of TNI personnel who kicked Aremania during the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

He said the violence carried out by members of the TNI might not be without reason. However, the Army Chief of Staff is still waiting for the TGIPF process related to the violence.

"We are waiting for a team from TGPF, we are waiting for the police to also hand over to the TGPF to find out what really happened," said Dudung at the Siliwangi Stadium, Bandung City, West Java.
