JAMBI - Jambi City is currently in a social emergency activity for motorcycle gangs. The Jambi City Government (Pemkot) asked its citizens to respond wisely.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Jambi, Maulana, this status must be applied considering that Jambi is prone to motorcycle gang crime. Their activities are also difficult to control.

"I think this is a must, we are together responding positively to this, this is for our safety because security is a priority factor for the success of development," he said on Wednesday, October 5, confiscated from Antara.

The status determination is based on the Jambi Mayor's Decree Number 356 of 2022 concerning the determination of social emergency against motorcycle gang activities.

The motorcycle gang emergency is also supported by curfew rules for teenagers in the area. Jambi Provincial Secretary A. Ridwan said the curfew rule was valid from 22.00-04.00 WIB.

"We imposed the curfew to suppress the motorcycle gang and that was the Forkopimda agreement," said Ridwan.

Regarding legal action or the necessary steps from the emergency determination of motorcycle gangs in Jambi, Ridwan said the police would synergize with the Prosecutor's Office and Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).

"We continue to ask the security forces of the TNI, Polri and Satpol PP to continue to routinely control, supervise and carry out improved patrols, especially on protocol roads and crowded places," he said.

The Jambi City RT Forum has also gathered teenagers and parents to provide education related to the emergency determination of motorcycle gangs in Jambi.

"And don't let the children go out at night again, so that there won't be teenagers who are motorized, speeding up," said Jambi City RT Forum Chair Suparyono.

Suparyono asked all parents to really supervise his teenagers. Prohibiting them from going out at night and hanging out with motorcycle gang members.

He emphasized that if a teenager is found roaming the curfew in Jambi City, the RT will take action by coaching the Jambi SPN.
