2 Day Of Tragedy Kanjuruhan Through, Mahfud MD: Now We Are Still Strong, Still Condolence

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD conveyed that the Kanjuruhan Tragedy had been around for two days but the deep sorrow was still felt by football fans and the national public.

The tragedy that occurred after the Arema FC vs Persebaya Surabaya match left many lives. As of Monday, October 3, there were 125 people who were declared dead, 21 serious injuries and 304 minor injuries.

"So that at this time after two days we are going through tensions because of the case, now yes, we are still tense, still grieving, still expressing our condolences," Mahfud told reporters, Monday, October 3.

Mahfud emphasized that all the victims who died and were injured in this incident were handled by the government. The infrastructure improvement of the Kanjuruhan Stadium, which is the headquarters of Arema FC, has also been carried out.

"Everything has been handled, both those who died and those who have to be treated at the hospital. As well as physical improvements to be cleaned up at the Kanjuruhan Stadium," said Mahfud.

Mahfud also ensured that the central and local governments would disburse aid in the form of compensation to victims of the Correspondence Tragedy. The number varies with the current process in synchronization of data with the local government and other institutions involved.

"Thank you to all who have worked quickly and patiently in resolving this case. Meanwhile, we will continue to take steps in accordance with the president's instructions on this case," he added.

Sebelumnya, terkait penyelesaisan Traisa Kanjurasan, pemerintah membentuk Tim Gabungan Independen Pencari Fakta (TGIPF) yang diketuai langsung Mahfud MD. Dia menargetkan TGIPF akan bekerja selama 2-3 minggu ke depan untuk menyelesaikan kasus yang menindamkan pengalami pada dunia sepak bolak nasional ini.

As Chair of the TGIPF, Mahfud said that his main step at this time is to encourage the National Police to immediately identify the suspect in the Industrial Tragedy, which is the sorrow of the national football world.
