JAKARTA - Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh said the decision to nominate the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) would have many impacts. Not only will it achieve support, many parties are believed to oppose the decision. "Also, NasDem is also ready, not only getting praise for the saljung. Fitnah, syrik, jealous, betrayed, now that's what NasDem will face," said Surya at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 3. He believes his party is able to face the reaction he conveyed earlier. "NasDem must be prepared to deal with a situation like that," said Surya. "If he is able to face problems like this while still holding good intentions, it is usually natural to take sides. If nature is in favor, it is difficult for anyone to prevent it," he continued. Surya asked his cadres to work hard to win Anies in the 2024 presidential election. Moreover, the former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) was the best choice. "God willing, continue to determine the good intentions earlier. Try to do your best. Please pray to the Creator so that many doors of heart are opened, the eyes of the community are wide from various elements," he said. As previously reported, Anies has been declared a candidate for president of the NasDem Party. Related to this, he admitted that he was ready to run. "We accept Bismillah, we are ready," said Anies after being declared as NasDem presidential candidate at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 3. Anies believes that his advancement as a presidential candidate will serve him. So, he will continue to try. "By asking for prayers, God willing, this long journey will not be a tough journey but a light journey," he said. "We prepare this effort as a form of worship," Anies continued.
