Children And Women Become Victims Of The Correspondence Tragedy, Minister Of PPPA: It Has Been Handled Properly

JAKARTA - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga said his party continues to monitor the handling of child victims and women of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, Malang Regency, East Java.

"It has been handled well, from us we continue to monitor how the victims are children and women," Bintang told the Jakarta Presidential Palace, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 3.

The Minister of PPPA also stated that his party continues to coordinate with the local PPPA Office to ensure good handling of victims of women and children.

"We have monitoring and coordinating with the women's and children's supply services. Thank God, the Governor (East Java -red) has handled very well now," he said.

The Kanjuruhan tragedy occurred after the Arema FC vs Persebaya Surabaya match on Saturday, October 1 night. A number of the home fans burst into the field after the match.

The authorities then made prevention efforts so that the fans did not go to the field. The police acted far by firing tear gas.

Based on data from the National Police, the number of temporary victims as of Monday, October 3, reached 455 people.

"The number of victims is 455 people," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo in his statement, Monday, October 3.

Hundreds of victims were divided into several parts. Dedi explained that 125 people were declared dead and the rest suffered serious and minor injuries.

"The victim suffered 21 serious injuries and 304 minor injuries," said Dedi.
