Proud, Indonesia Becomes The First Country To Have Fast Trains In ASEAN

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi is proud that Indonesia will become the first country in the ASEAN region to have a high-speed train, namely the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB).

"It is an honor that Indonesia became the first country to own and operate the high-speed train in ASEAN," said Budi Karya in Tegalluar, Bandung, West Java on Saturday, October 1.

He added that KCJB is a high-speed train that has a speed of 350 km/h. "So we imagine that there is a high-speed train capable of traveling at 350 km/hour," said Budi Karya as quoted by ANTARA.

The Minister of Transportation conducted a review of the progress of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project on Saturday (1/10).

"I went to Padalarang to ensure a good trip from Jakarta to Bandung, namely Jakarta-Padalarang 30 minutes and from Padalarang to Bandung 22 minutes so that the total is 52 minutes," he said.

He also said that later KCJB will also have a 26-minute headway. Previously, a series of inspection trains for the maintenance needs of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) departed for Depo Tegalluar, Bandung Regency.

One electric-powered passenger train and one inspection train, each in an eight-car formation, have arrived in Indonesia after traveling the sea for 11 days from China.

GM Corporate Secretary of PT KCIC Rahadian Ratry said the requirements included licensing for the journey of the inspection train series for the KCJB project have been completed, so the series of inspection trains for the KCJB project can be sent to Depo Tegalluar.

The trip to Depo Tegalluar was carried out on window hours at 22.00 WIB-05.00 WIB. This aims not to interfere with traffic flow. Arriving at Depo Tegalluar, the series of inspection trains were rearranged after all cars or complete trains.
