JAKARTA - Facing international events such as the G20 Summit, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has prepared a plan to face the contingent due to natural disasters during the implementation in Bali from 15 to 16 November 2022. According to him, the government has even prepared steps to deal with the worst disaster scenario, earthquakes with a magnitude of 8.5 which can generate tsunami waves within 20 to 38 minutes. "Hopefully the G20 Summit will run safely and smoothly, there will be no earthquakes or tsunamis. However, if it happens at any time, BMKG together with BNPBB, BPBD, TNI/Polri, is ready for the worst scenario," he said. He stated that the main focus on mitigating actions was ensuring the safety and safety of the president and high-ranking leaders of the countries participating in the G20 meeting if Bali experiences earthquakes and tsunamis.

According to him, the BMKG together with various other government agencies have prepared an Emergency Early Warning and Emergency Rapid Response System, including evacuation routes, evacuation signs, and safe temporary evacuation sites as well as inter-party synergies in handling emergencies.
