Moeldoko To Padang State University Students: State Defense Not Just About Lifting Weapons

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko in front of the students said defending the country was not just a matter of taking up arms and fighting, but of trying to alleviate poverty and ignorance. “Therefore, I invite students and students to defend the country, meaning thinking about how to eradicate poverty in Indonesia, ” said Moeldoko when giving a public lecture to Padang State University, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 30. At the public lecture, Moeldoko had a dialogue with young people about managing a country. He said efforts to manage the country must prioritize unity and integrity so that all national problems can be resolved. "There is nothing difficult if we unite together. Moreover, we are awarded extraordinary and intelligent human resources. They are young people who are not inheritors, but become a generation who determines the future," he said. The former TNI commander explained that the government had a measurable plan to achieve the target for Indonesia to become the country with the highest economy ranked seven in the world by 2030. In addition, he said, the government is targeting 113 million trained workers by 2030 out of just 55 million trained personnel in 2012. "With a market opportunity of 1.8 trillion US dollars by 2030, our resources in the fields of agribusiness, fisheries, and other natural resources are very large. So we need human resources that can manage that huge potential," he said.
