Rizieq's Investigation Will Be Escorted By The Crowds, Police: The State Will Not Be Defeated By Thuggery

JAKARTA - Crowds of supporters of Rizieq Shihab claim that they will spill over at Polda Metro Jaya to guard Rizieq's examination regarding the alleged violation of health protocols.

Responding to this, the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, emphasized that the Police would not lose to thuggery.

"What is clear is that the state should not be defeated by thuggery, my answer is. How will we see the progress," said Awi at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit Building, South Jakarta, Monday, November 30.

For the security of the masses who would come to Polda Metro Jaya, Awi said it had been prepared.

"Later, how will the report from the investigator be prepared, how to secure it, how the security has been prepared," said Awi.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya scheduled to examine Rizieq Shiha in investigating alleged violations of the health protocol for events in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, November 14, and in Tebet, South Jakarta, on November 13, 2020.

Not only Rizieq, his son-in-law Muhammad Irfan Alaydrus, will also be questioned by Polda Metro Jaya investigators, on Tuesday, December 1.

They will be questioned as witnesses regarding the alleged violation of the health protocol for the wedding ceremony of Irfan Alaydrus and Najwa Shihab some time ago in Petambutan, Central Jakarta. This event will be held on November 14, or four days after Rizieq Shihab returned from Arabia.

"Tomorrow we will examine three. First is the FPI Legal Bureau, then Rizieq's son-in-law HA. Then we will summon the three MRS tomorrow (Tuesday 1 December)," said Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus at his office, Monday, November 30. .

Yusri hopes that the three of them can fulfill the summons for questioning. "We believe that we Indonesian citizens must obey the law," said Yusri.

According to Yusri, there is no problem if the three of them are not present at the summons. However, he said, if that happens they must provide a clear explanation.

"The mechanism can provide a definite reason according to the law. For example, the person concerned is sick, the reason for being sick by carrying a sick certificate from the doctor. Later the doctor will check what the pain is. It's not possible for a sick person to be examined," he said.

Yusri asked when Rizieq Shihab and his son-in-law Irfan Alaydrus answered the summons, his party asked their supporters not to come to Polda Metro Jaya. Because, currently it is still in a COVID-19 situation.

"We hope not (supporters to Polda Metro Jaya). We must obey the law," he said.
