BURU SELATAN - The Public Prosecutor's Team of the Corruption Eradication Commission charged the defendant, former South Buru Regent, two times Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa with a sentence of 10 years in prison in cases of alleged bribery and gratification worth Rp29 billion. "Ask the panel of judges who examined and tried this case to declare the defendant guilty of violating Article 12 A of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) and Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said the coordinator of the KPK prosecutor's team Taufiq Ibnugroho at the trial at the Ambon Corruption Court, Antara, Thursday, September 29. The trial of charges against former South Buru Regent Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa was chaired by the Chief Justice of the Ambon Corruption Court Nanang Zulkarnain Faizal accompanied by Jenny Tulak and Anthonius Sampe Sammine as member judges. The defendant Tagop Sudarsono was also required to pay a fine of Rp. 500 million, a subsidiary of one year in prison and a replacement money of Rp. 27.5 billion, minus a number of assets in the form of buildings, land, and cars that had been confiscated by the KPK. "The defendant's property will also be confiscated and auctioned off to cover the replacement money and if it is not sufficient, the defendant will be sentenced to five years in prison," said the prosecutor. The former regent of South Buru for the 2011-2021 period, Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa, was also charged with additional penalties in accordance with Article 12 B in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law in the form of revocation of his right to be elected as a public official. The aggravating thing for the defendant is that he does not support the government's program in eradicating corruption, collusion, and nepotism, and does not admit his actions. The KPK prosecutor's team in their indictment also stated that they did not find any reason for forgiveness or justification for the defendant's actions. The Ambon Corruption Court panel of judges postponed the trial for the next two weeks with the agenda of hearing the defense of the defendant's legal advisory team, Joemicho Syararanamuan and his friends. Furthermore, the panel of judges and the same KPK prosecutor's team held a follow-up hearing on the defendant Johny Ryanhard Kasman who was a personal driver and a confidant of Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa with the agenda of reading the demands. The defendant Johny Ryanhard, who was accompanied by Herberth Dadiara as a legal adviser, was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to six months in prison for participating in receiving funds transfers from a number of partners through his bank account and forwarded to Tagop Soulisa.
