JAKARTA - The General Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, received 18 public complaints regarding the membership of political parties for the upcoming 2024 election participants who were in the clarification process.

Head of Gunungkidul Bawaslu Tri Asmiyanto said the profiteering was known when they checked through the 2024 Election Information site.

"For the public, please check with the 2024 Election Information site, if the name is listed and is detrimental, please report it to the Gunungkidul Bawaslu," said Tri Ismiyanto, Thursday, September 29, quoted from Antara.

Dozens of these residents claimed not to be members of political parties, so they reported objections to the Gunungkidul Bawaslu. Follow-up steps were taken after the report was received. So far, six reports have been clarified. The clarification process was carried out with the Gunungkidul General Elections Commission (KPU).

"Clarification is carried out with representatives of political parties participating in the election in Gunungkidul," he said.

Tri Ismiyanto said the way of checking was carried out by entering the population identification number (NIK) into the column provided. After processing, information will be issued whether the NIK is registered as a member of the political party participating in the 2024 election or not.

The Gunungkidul Bawaslu has opened a public complaint post regarding the verification of the membership of this political party. The complaint post is still open until the verification stage for the election participants is complete.

"So it is possible that there will be additional complaints from the public regarding the membership of this political party," said Tri.

Meanwhile, a member of the Gunungkidul Bawaslu Is Sumarsono said that in addition to the complaint about membership profiteering for political parties, the Gunungkidul Bawaslu also handled membership of double political parties.

So far, there are 97 double names from membership of 13 political parties participating in the 2024 General Election in Gunungkidul. They are currently clarifying the findings.

"So far, 23 names have been declared eligible for eight political parties, we are still waiting for the data improvement process from political parties," he said.
