Secretary Joko Tjandra Fransisca Reveals The Giving Of Money To Tommy Sumardi

JAKARTA - Joko Tjandra's secretary, Nurmawan Fransisca, explained the process of giving money from Joko Tjandra to Tommy Sumardi.

In front of the panel of judges, Fransisca said that Tommy Sumardi had been given six times. However, the process of giving almost every time is through Nurdin, who is also an employee of Joko Tjandra.

"Pak Joko has an order to provide funds. But at that time I did not know what it was for," Fransisca said during a trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 30.

Of the six times the money was given, only once went through it on April 28, 2020. The money given to Tommy Sumardi was 200 thousand Singapore dollars.

At that time Joko Tjandra contacted him to go to Hotel Mulia, Senayan. Fransisca admitted that she did not know the purpose of the order. He just followed the directions from his boss.

"Pak Joko called, he said 'you don't have to go to the office, you go to Hotel Mulia'. Finally I went to Hotel Mulia, Senayan and waited in the lobby," he said.

Not long after waiting, suddenly someone he didn't know approached. The man handed over 200 thousand Singapore dollars worth of money.

Then, Joko Tjandra contacted Fransisca, who ordered him to hand over a brown envelope filled with money to Tommy.

Fransisca met Tommy Sumardi after communicating via telephone. They finally met in the meeting room.

"I met him in the lobby of Hotel Mulia, because I took money to the business center. I took him to the meeting room," he said.

"During the meeting, he said, 'Sisca, I am Tommy'. I said, 'There is a deposit from you (Djoko Tjandra).' Then, Pak Tommy counts," he continued.

At the end of the meeting, Fransisca admitted to borrowing a computer at the Business Center to make a receipt. This is evidence that can be accounted for to Joko Tjandra.

Meanwhile, the indictment states that the bribes were given gradually to Napoleon and Prasetijo by Tommy in April-May 2020, namely on April 27 2020 amounting to 100,000 US dollars for Prasetijo, on 28 April 2020 amounting to 200,000 Singapore dollars for Napoleon.

The next day, on April 29 2020, amounting to 100,000 US dollars to Napoleon, on 4 May 2020 amounting to 150,000 US dollars to Napoleon, on 5 May 2020 amounting to 20,000 US dollars to Napoleon, on 6 May 2020 amounting to 50,000 US dollars to Prasetijo.

"The total money that Joko Tjandra handed over to Tommy Sumardi was 500,000 US dollars and 200,000 Singapore dollars," the prosecutor said in the indictment.
