JAKARTA - Former employee of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Rasamala Aritonang, has decided to become Putri Chandrawathi's legal adviser in dealing with the trial process for the premeditated murder of Brigadier J. According to him, one of the main reasons so that he wants to become the attorney for the suspect is because Ferdy Sambo will reveal all the facts that actually the murder case was at trial. "Yes, after considering various aspects in this case I approved the request to become a legal advisor, the consideration was mainly because Pak Ferdy (Sambo) was willing to reveal the facts that he really knew about this case at trial later," Rasamala told reporters, Wednesday, September 28. In addition, anti-corruption activists also reasoned that they had strengthened their intention to defend Putri Chandrawathi due to various dynamics that occurred, including the findings of Komnas HAM. In fact, according to him, Ferdy Sambo and Putri Chandrawathi have the same legal assistance rights as other Indonesian citizens. "So regardless of what is suspected of him, he also has the right to be examined in an objective, fair and artificial trial, including obtaining a proportional defense from the legal advisor he chooses," said Rasamala. Apart from Rasamala Aritonang, former spokesman for the KPK, Febri Diansyah, is also a member of the team of lawyers from Putri Chandrawarthi. Meanwhile, Ferdy Sambo's wife is one of five people named as suspects in the premeditated murder case against Brigadier J. He is suspected of Article 340 subsidiary 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) and Article 56 of the Criminal Code. He and other suspects face the death penalty or 20 years in prison.
