Ahmadi Noor Supit Is A Member Of The BPK, Chairman Of The DPR: Strengthen The Prevention Of State Financial Losses

JAKARTA - The DPR has ratified Ahmadi Noor Supit as a member of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) for the 2022-2027 period, a replacement for Harry Azhar who died. DPR Speaker Puan Maharani hopes that Ahmadi Noor Supit can help improve BPK's performance.

"Congratulations on the election of Mr. Ahmadi Noor Supit as a member of the BPK RI for the 2022-2027 period. Hopefully, he can carry out the mandate as well as possible," said Puan in a written statement, Tuesday, September 27.

Ahmadi Noor Supit's approval as a member of the BPK was carried out in the 6th Plenary Session of the DPR during the first session of 2022-2023. Of the eight candidates, Ahmadi Noor Supit was elected after undergoing a fit and proper test at Commission XI of the DPR last week.

The results of the ratification of BPK members in the DPR RI Plenary Meeting will be sent to President Joko Widodo. Puan emphasized that the elected BPK member is a figure who is expected to improve and improve BPK's performance in the future.

"Efforts to prevent state losses are very difficult because bureaucratic reform, especially in budget management, is still very weak, both at the central and regional government levels," said the first woman who served as Chair of the DPR RI.

"Therefore, elected BPK members must be able to make breakthroughs in an effort to improve and improve performance," continued Puan.

The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also reminded that elected BPK members should be able to carry out optimal supervision of state financial management by all state institutions. As a free and independent institution, said Puan, BPK must work independently and professionally.

"With optimal supervision from the BPK, it is hoped that the APBN and APBD can be used effectively and as much as possible have a direct impact on people's welfare amid the threat of a global crisis," he said.

Puan hopes that BPK members can help prevent misuse of the State budget allocation through their authority and responsibilities. Because good supervision of state financial management is considered to reduce the occurrence of corrupt practices.

"Officers and employees in state institutions should no longer enjoy the budget that should be distributed directly to the people," concluded Puan.
