Invite Women To Be Involved As Panwascam For The 2024 General Election, The Governor Of Riau Islands: This Must Be Utilized

KEPRI - Riau Islands Governor (Kapri) Ansar Ahmad asked women to be involved in the 2024 General Elections (Pemilu) District Supervisory Committee (Panwascam).

"I encourage the involvement of women to join Panwascam, this is an opportunity for women," said Ansar in Batam, Riau Islands, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 27.

According to him, women can take advantage of this five-year democratic party to be involved as election organizers.

"Because sometimes women always demand equality, but when orders open up space and open opportunities, this must be used," he said.

Ansar believes that women will be able to oversee the implementation of the 2024 General Election according to their capacity by participating in Panwascam.

"But it's not just a complement, women must have a T-shirt together and prepare starting today," he said.

Separately, the Head of the Riau Islands Bawaslu, Said Abdullah Dahlawi, explained that the quota for women's representation was taken from 30 percent which was taken from the number of needs.

Said did not explain in detail how many female quotas have been met so far. However, he said, the quota for women on the last day of Panwascam recruitment was not very significant.

In some places there are those whose quotas are complete, some have not. Currently the progress is still ongoing, later if it is not full, an extension will be carried out," concluded Said.
