Fish Findings Contain Formalin And Busuk Meat In Traditional Markets: Market Manager Gives Sanctions

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Maritime and Agriculture Food Security Sub-dept. (KPKP) has followed up on finding salted fish containing formalin and rotten meat in a number of traditional markets in the region.

Head of the Section (Kasi) of Marine and Agricultural Food Security of the Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-Department, Ilhamsyah, said that his party found salted fish and meat unfit for consumption because they were under the supervision of foodstuffs in traditional markets in the Central Jakarta area.

"What we often find is salted fish containing formalin and rotten meat. The discovery is in a traditional market in Central Jakarta owned by Pasar Jaya," Ilhamsyah said quoting Antara, Tuesday, September 27.

Ilhamsyah said that his party had also straightened out where the fish came from.

During the search, it was found that fish came from Muara Angke, North Jakarta, where traders bought them in the area.

"On average they take from the Muara Angke area," he said.

Separately, Pasar Jaya Market Market Market Marketing Manager Gatra Vaganza admitted that his party had received reports of traders selling inadequate food.

According to him, the market has also given sanctions to traders.

"Mereka umumnya hanya mengambil perdagangan dari wilayah lain, dan tidak tahu apakah makanan tersebut berbahaya atau tidak. Jadi kita hanya memberikan surat peringatan saja kepada pedagang," kata Manager Pemasaran Pasar Jaya Gatra Vaganza.

Gatra continued, PD Pasar Jaya only gave warning letters to the traders.
