JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) organizes the Kedaung area in Tangerang, Banten, to be able to improve the quality of urban slums so that they can be habitable and productive.

In accordance with the mandate of the 2020-2024 Major Project RPJMN, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Human Settlements continues to improve the quality of urban slums to support the realization of habitable and productive settlements.

One of them is through the Kumuh Scale Settlement Quality Improvement (PKP) program through the City Without Slums Program (KOTAKU).

The Kedaung area consists of 2 urban villages in Neglasari District, namely Kedaung Baru and Kedaung with a slum area of 22.6 hectares and an area of handling 89 hectares.

The main problem with slum settlements in the Kedaung area is the irregularity of the building, it is not maintained and the damage to drainage construction, there is no good waste management system, and the condition of the sanitation system does not meet technical standards.

The arrangement of the Kedaung area has been carried out since July 2022 and is targeted for completion in December 2022. The work is carried out by PT Andica Parsaktian Abadi as the implementing contractor and TMC-3 as a consultant at a cost of Rp11.17 billion.

The scope of work includes improving the quality of roads (concrete roads and paving roads), improving the quality of drainage channels (U-Ditch, box culverts, infiltration wells).
