JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria encourages Muslims to contribute to national economic growth by becoming producers. "We (Muslims) have the majority, but economic matters have become a minority. Muslims are considered only consumers, not producers," said Riza when opening the 2022 DKI Jakarta Indonesian Muslim Muslim Consultative Association (Musda ICMI) at the South Jakarta Mayor's Office, Antara, Sunday, September 25. Riza assessed that Muslims had been left behind because they were only used as buyers or consumers, but now many Islamic businessmen have been able to compete. Therefore, Riza encourages ICMI members to participate in building the economy in DKI Jakarta in collaboration with regional apparatus organizations (OPD). The hope is that after the pandemic, ICMI's contribution is able to direct Islamic entrepreneurs to be better. One of them is by supporting home business actors to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) starting from the smallest things, namely by buying their products, Riza said. If you continue to become a consumer, it will be difficult for Muslims to develop, he said. "Now the focus is on the economy of the people. Da'wah, recitation, seminars, and discussions are still being carried out as an intellectual form of us as Muslims," he said. In the ICMI Musda, it is stated that the work program that has been prepared and formulated are five fields in categories such as improving human resources, social social services, productive economic businesses of MSMEs, institutions, and institutions. These five fields are synergized with government programs in the form of digitizing MSMEs and a sustainable economy. The collaboration of the work program is in line with the main tasks and functions of the DKI Jakarta government in an effort to provide public services.
