YOGYAKARTA - Supreme Court Justice Sudrajad Dimyati has been named a suspect by the KPK in connection with the alleged bribery case in case management at the Supreme Court (MA).

Researcher from the Center for Anti-Corruption Studies (Pukat) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta, Zaenur Rohman, assessed that the change in the Supreme Court had not touched a number of basic aspects so that cases such as those against Sudrajad were still found.

"You have to touch the basic aspects, namely aspects of cultural change, aspects of behavior change and aspects of changing ways of thinking," said Zaenur in his video message received in Jakarta, Friday, September 23.

However, Zaenur did not deny that there were several results from the update in the Supreme Court, including improving the quality of services and infrastructure.

"However, there is one bad habit, namely buying and selling cases that seem not to be able to be clean from the Supreme Court institution," he said.

Zaenur said the alleged bribery case in case management also showed that hand arrest operations (OTT) were still an essential method to eradicate corruption to date.

He considered that cases such as bribery were the most effective in using the OTT approach along with wiretapping methods. "OTT is usually the result of wiretapping, wiretapping and OTT cannot be ruled out in eradicating corruption," he added.

He then said, "It is difficult for law enforcement to use case building methods."

The corruption case, said Zaenur, is a tough task that must be accounted for by the Supreme Court. The biggest risk of this case can have an impact on increasingly losing the level of public trust in judicial institutions.

"The main effect of soaring trust is that people can use methods outside the law and even unlawful ways when facing problems, such as taking justices themselves," he said.

Therefore, he continued, the Supreme Court must take serious steps to improve its institution. He emphasized that the Supreme Court must carry out an in-depth, thorough evaluation and there must be a major change within the Supreme Court.

"Not only seeing this case as kasuistic, but seeing where there was a leak so that bribery practices could still be carried out within the Supreme Court, even though there have been so many reform programs, including for example the implementation of the anti-infiltration management system," he said.

Previously, on Friday, September 23, the KPK named 10 people as suspects in the alleged bribery case related to the management of cases at the Supreme Court, one of which was Judge Agung Sudrajad Dimyati as a bribe recipient.

KPK chairman Firli Bahuri explained that from the collection of various information and information related to the alleged corruption, the KPK then investigated and found sufficient preliminary evidence.
