DKI Holds A Subsidized Food Program Until The End Of The Year, Checks The Terms Of Recipients

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a subsidized cheap food program, which took place from January to December 2022 by targeting low-income people.

"The target is children with Jakarta Smart Cards, Jakarta Elderly Cards, people with disabilities, residents of flats, honorary teachers, then PJLP with UMP Rp. 1.1 million," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime Security and Fisheries Service (KPKP), Suharini Eliawati in Jakarta, Thursday, September 22.

Eli said that there were 22 thousand honorary teachers who were targeted for the subsidized cheap food program, then there were also 14 thousand PPK cadres, and 14,000 people with disabilities.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated that a total of 1.1 million residents of the capital city would receive the benefits of a subsidized cheap food program.

"This subsidized cheap field is given to 1.1 million recipients who are distributed through 312 locations throughout Jakarta," said Anies at Cipinang Market, Kebembem.

Of the 312 locations, 159 of them were distributed by Perumda Pasar Jaya in the Capital City markets.

Then, 108 points were located at the RPTRA of flats, 30 locations in the Thousand Islands, and the rest were distributed by Perumda Dharma Jaya.

Anies explained that the cheap food packages consisted of rice, meat, cows, eggs, chickens, fish and milk.

"The public buys more than IDR 402 thousand, but what they pay through this program is IDR 126 thousand. So they get a subsidy of IDR 276 thousand or 69 percent, almost 70 percent is financed through subsidies," Anies added.
