JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through Perumda Pasar Jaya has revitalized and rebuilt a number of markets in Jakarta. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that his party added the construction of infiltration wells in revitalizing and raiding the market. A total of 583 infiltration wells have been worked on by the provincial government. Anies made the market area a run off zone. This means that when it rains, the flow of water around the market does not flow into the culverts, but seeps into the vertical drainage. One of the locations for the construction of infiltration wells is around the Cipinang Rice Main Market and Cipinang Market Kebembeb. "Rainwater that falls inside this complex is not channeled into the sewers outside but infiltration wells are prepared. This means, if there is water out here, then the Main Market can say, 'we don't contribute water out, because all the water is maintained inside the fence, but it is lowered into the ground'," said Anies, Thursday, September 22. Today, Anies inaugurated the revitalization of four markets, namely Cipinang Kebembem Market, West Sawah Market, Tanah Tinggi Poncol Market, and West Tebet Market. In addition, there are still 10 markets that are currently under construction and revitalization. The revitalization market is the Perumnas Klender Market. Meanwhile, 9 other markets that were rebuilt include the Batu Sumur Market, Outer Fish Market (Hexagon Market), Petojo Environment Market, Jatirawasari Market, Kalideres Market, Gandaria Market, Kombongan Market, Kwitang Dalam Market, and Cilincing Market. The revitalization of Jakarta's markets has been carried out since the last 5 years. The development and revitalization budget is IDR 15 billion to IDR 20 billion per market.
