GARUT - Head of BPBD Garut Regency Satria Budi said 22 houses were damaged by strong winds accompanied by heavy rains in Karangpawitan District, Wednesday, September 21 evening. This number is still based on preliminary reports. "Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties. The community did not evacuate," said Satria in Garut, Antara, Thursday, September 22. He continued, damaged houses were located in two villages, namely Tanjungjaya Village and Godog Village. Apart from houses, said Satria, the natural disaster also damaged public facilities for bathing, washing, toilets (MCK). All the buildings affected by the strong winds were damaged on the roof. Satria ensured that the Garut BPBD would continue to collect comprehensive data on all damage. Later, the destroyed building will be categorized as light, moderate or severe. If there is light damage and conditions only need roof repair assistance or urgency, for example, the relevant agencies will give it. "We from BPBD are coordinating with the technical office to conduct an assessment of the houses affected by yesterday's disaster," said Satria. He added that the Garut BPBD immediately dispatched officers to help the community after the natural disaster and distribute logistical assistance needed by the community. The local community also worked together to help residents affected by the disaster around them, especially in terms of food supply.
