The DPRD Asked The Ambon City Government To Order Mardika Market Traders To Return To Fill The Road Entity

AMBON - The Ambon City DPRD asked the local government (Pemda) to be firm in controlling traders at Mardika Market who returned to selling on roads, causing traffic jams.

"We propose that Mardika Market should be brought under control every day. Not just once or twice. Officers must also increase firmness against stubborn traders," said Ambon City DPRD member Yusuf Wally in Ambon, Maluku, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 22.

Mardika Market is located in the north of Ambon City, which is the largest traditional market in the capital city of Maluku Province.

Since August this year, the Ambon City Government has controlled traders along with the Mardika Market revitalization project, but traders still sell a lot on roads, causing traffic jams.

Yusuf Wally said the activities of traders in the Mardika Market area began to look messy again, different from the conditions two months ago which were arranged in an orderly manner so that vehicles could pass smoothly.

"After controlling and structuring at the beginning of last August, the market conditions were very neat. Traders were well organized as well as parking. But now it has returned to chaos again. So what is the purpose of the control," he said.

According to him, relevant regional apparatus organizations in Ambon City, such as industry and trade services, transportation services, and Ambon City Satpol PP, must be consistent with what is the main goal in controlling Mardika Market. This is because, in fact, the location where the Ambon City Government was originally brought under control has now become a place for trading again and is the source of causing traffic congestion.

Back again to the original goal. What must be achieved from this control. Not only when ordered, but routinely and as an obligation so that what is our main goal is successfully realized," he said.
