ACEH - The East Aceh District Health Office stated that 242 children in the district had clinical symptoms of rubela turbulence.
Head of the East Aceh District Health Office, Sahminan, said that of the 242 children who had these symptoms, four of them were confirmed to be rubela.
"For children who have confirmed symptoms and the symptoms of rubelakism are handled properly. Including efforts to prevent it from spreading to others," said Sahminan in East Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, September 21.
In addition to controls, said Sahminan, the East Aceh District Health Office also recorded a number of diseases against children. Among them are acute flacid paralysis (AFP) or commonly known as wilty paralysis.
The wilted paralyzed disease in East Aceh Regency was experienced by two children, namely in Nurussalam and Peudawa sub-districts, said Sahminan.
"We are also handling cases of diphtheria with four children. However, two of them died. The other two are still under treatment and monitoring," said Sahminan.
Then, three children in three sub-districts, namely Julok District, Rantau Seulamat, and Idi Rayeuk were also exposed to pertusis or cough disease that could be contagious.
Sahminan said that efforts to prevent all child diseases include providing complete immunizations such as OPV, IPV, and DPT-HB-Hib vaccines.
Sahminan said that the achievement of rubela turbulence immunization during the National Children's Immunization Month (BIAN) program in the area had only reached 19.4 percent or 23,804 children who had received immunization.
Meanwhile, the target for the coverage of additional rubela turbulence is at least 95 percent of the total and evenly distributed in all villages in East Aceh Regency.
He said the low vaccine achievement was due to several factors, such as parents not allowing their children to be immunized, there was no support from the family.
"In fact, many people still doubt the halalness of the vaccine and worry about side effects such as fever, and swelling around the injection point," said Sahminan.
However, his party continues to disseminate information to people about diseases that are prevented by immunization such as polio disease, neonatorum tetanus, rubela turbulence, diphtheria, pertussis, and others.
"Immunization is important. Because, with the immunization of the child's body has immunity, so that his body is able to survive the attacks of various diseases," said Sahminan.
