JAKARTA - A two-story luxury house on Jalan H Taiman Timur Satu, Gedong, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, was burned down on Tuesday afternoon, September 20. The fire was triggered by a stove that forgot to turn off.

Luckily, the fire did not cause any injuries or deaths. Three occupants of the house were rescued by local residents from the blaze.

The blazing fire knocked down the roof of the two-story building. According to Abdul, a local resident, the fire came from the kitchen of the victim's house.

"The stove exhaust just forgot to remove it, forgot to turn it off," Abdul told reporters, Tuesday, September 20.

Abdul said when the fire appeared there was no sound of any explosion, but the fire immediately grew.

"There was no explosion, suddenly a big fire," he said.

There were no injuries or fatalities in this fire incident. However, the loss is estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"Fire from the kitchen of the building above. The fire did not spread, until this house only," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that currently the situation is still being cooled.

"Colding is still being carried out since 10.41 WIB until now. A total of 11 fire engines were deployed with 55 personnel to the location of the fire," he said.
