JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo inaugurated the CibitungCilincing Toll Road at the Gabus Toll Gate, Bekasi Regency, West Java. There, Jokowi also inaugurated the SerpongBalaraja Section 1 Toll Road.

"By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I inaugurated the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road and the Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 Toll Road which we can immediately operate," said the President at the inauguration, Tuesday, September 20.

Jokowi said the presence of this 27.2 kilometer toll road will accelerate the mobility of goods, especially from industrial areas in northern Bekasi as well as from logistics areas in Karawang and Bekasi.

"Very fast with the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road being left to the port in the northern area of Jakarta. This speed will later facilitate the mobility of goods and of course at that speed will strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian products that will be exported," he said.

The Head of State also hopes that the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road, which has been taken over by PT Pelindo from PT Waskita Karya, can provide services to logistics trucks.

"It is hoped that this can provide services to container trucks for goods to be exported as well as imported goods that will go to industrial areas to existing logistics areas," he said.

The CibitungCilincing Toll Road is part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2. Overall, JORR 2 is targeted for completion by the end of 2023. Meanwhile, the Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 Toll Road along the 5.1 kilometer is part of JORR 3. The existence of JORR 2 and JORR 3 is expected to reduce the level of congestion in DKI Jakarta.

"Later, when JORR 2, JORR 3 is finished, from west to east, from east to west, you don't have to go through the middle of Jakarta, this will reduce congestion in DKI Jakarta," he concluded.

This toll road was built with the ability to accommodate heavy-loaded vehicles, said Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Danang Parikesit.

According to Danang, this cannot be separated from the fact that the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road, which is part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2, has its main function as a liaison for the logistics area.

"As a logistics area, one of the important features is the ability to accommodate the volume of heavy vehicles," said Danang.

Danang explained that the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road could accommodate the volume of heavy vehicles of class II-V up to 30 percent or larger than the national estimate of mid 10-15 percent.

"So, he can transport large containers with a weight of 8-10 tons of the heaviest axis per double," he said.

Danang emphasized that container trucks with large loads are indeed important consumers and the main thing is the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road.

It is further hoped that the container trucks will be able to go directly to Kalibaru Port when North Port East Access is built and officially operated.
