JAKARTA - The funeral group for the body of the Chairman of the Press Council Professor Dr Azyumardi Azra arrived at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 20.

According to VOI monitoring, the bodies and their entourage arrived at TMP Kalibata, at 08.17 WIB. At the burial site, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy and Imam Besar of the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, KH Nasaruddin Umar attended the funeral of Aztymardi Azra.

Not only that, the Chairperson of the 2020-2025 Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Asrul Sani to the Chancellor of UIN, Amany Lubis were also present.

The decrease in the body from the car was carried out at 08.36. After that, the funeral procession was marked by a gunshot from the Indonesian Army team at the Salvo Shooting Team.

The body began to be buried at 09.00 WIB, then continued with the sowing of flowers.

Previously, it was reported that the body of the Chairman of the Press Council Professor Dr Azyumardi Azra was buried after praying in congregation at the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN), Ciputat this morning.

A number of officials who participated in the funeral prayer included Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, and DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

Furthermore, the ambulance carrying the coffin left for TMP Kalibata at around 07.30 WIB.
