JAKARTA - The National Police will hold a Session of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) for the Appeal of Inspector General Pol. Ferdy Sambo on Monday (19/9), at 10.00 WIB, at the Propam Division of the National Police Headquarters TNCC Building, South Jakarta.

"(The FS Appeal KKEP Session) tomorrow Monday, at 10:00 WIB," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo told Antara when confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday night.

Dedi mentioned the KKEP Appeal Session on behalf of Inspector General Pol. Ferdy Sambo will be led by a high-ranking officer (pati) with the rank of three-star general. However, he did not mention the details of the name of the head of the appeal trial.

This is as regulated in Article 75 paragraph (1) of Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Ethics Commission.

"The leadership (general) is three-star," said Dedi.

Previously, on Thursday (15/9), the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo has approved the KKEP Appeal for Ferdy Sambo.

The implementation of the appeal hearing, said Dedi, was not like the KKEP Session that had previously been held. Only in the form of a meeting between the Commission for the Appeal Session led by a high-ranking officer, a three-star general.

“The appeal hearing should not be confused with the previous code of ethics trial. The appeal hearing is only a meeting, from the results of the meeting the collegial collective will decide whether the decision is to strengthen in this case to accept or reject (the appeal)," said Dedi, Thursday (15/9).

The decision of the KKEP Session was read Friday (26/8), the Chairman of the KKEP Session Commission decided to dishonorably dismiss (PTDH) Inspector General Pol. Ferdy Sambo for being legally and convincingly proven to have violated Article 13 paragraph 1 of Government Regulation Number 1 of 2003 concerning Dismissal of Police Members in conjunction with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b, in conjunction with Article 8 letter b in conjunction with Article 8 letter c number 1 in conjunction with Article 10 paragraph ( 1) letter f in conjunction with Article 11 paragraph (1) letter a, in conjunction with Article 11 paragraph (1) letter b junto Article 13 letter m Polri Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Ethics Commission.

For this decision, Ferdy Sambo declared an appeal according to his rights as stipulated in Article 69 of the Political Regulation Number 7 of 2022.

Ferdy Sambo was named a suspect in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J who was charged with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code which carries a maximum penalty of death or imprisonment for life or a maximum of 20 years.

The former Head of the Propam Police Division was also named a suspect in the case of obstructing law enforcement in the investigation of the case.
