Inauguration Tradition Of 14 Young Tegal City Police Officers, Held At The Peak Of Mount Slamet

TEGAL - This is the first time that the traditional long march of the Barrett for the Youth Police of the Tegal City Police has been carried out by taking the route of climbing Mount Slamet.

Mount Slamet is a volcano located in Central Java Province covering 5 districts, namely Brebes Regency, Banyumas Regency, Purbalingga Regency, Tegal Regency, and Pemalang Regency. This mountain has a height of 3,432 masl, making Mount Slamet the second highest mountain on the island of Java after Mount Semeru.

The Tegal City Police Chief, AKBP Rahmad Hidayat, said that the traditional raiding activity for the Youth NCO this time was different from previous years. The tradition of retaliation for the 47th generation of non-commissioned officers is carried out by climbing Mount Slamet.

"The previous year, we carried out the tradition of massaging only in the city by introducing the area, but for this year we are different, we take the mountain climbing route as a form of introduction and anticipation if at any time it is needed in the task of dealing with natural disasters or SAR tasks. "said the Chief of Police in a written statement, Sunday, September 18.

It is known, the activity began on Saturday morning, September 17, from the Police Headquarters to the Kompak base camp in the Guci Tourism Object area. Then the Barbing Tradition Opening Ceremony was held for 14 Youth NCOs at the Kompak Base Camp, in Rembul Village, Bojong, Tegal Regency.

After the Opening Ceremony, it was continued with the distribution of social assistance for residents in need around the Kompak Base Camp. And then the group began to carry out a long march through the climbing route to the top of Mount Slamet.

"After the opening ceremony and distribution of social assistance in the Kompak base camp, then the group continued their climbing activities to the summit via post 1, post 2 and post 3 until they arrived at Post 4. There we established a camp to rest the night while waiting for the morning," explained Police Chief.

The police chief added that after his party had a night's rest at post 4, then on Sunday morning at 03.30 WIB the group continued their climbing journey to the top of Mount Slamet and carried out the laying of the Tegal City Police inscription and the raising of the Red and White Flag.

"After we rested for the night at post 4, on Sunday morning we continued our journey until we reached the top of Mount Slamet, we carried out the laying of the Tegal City Police Inscription and hoisting the Red and White Flag there, after that we just continued the journey to return to Base Camp Kompak, "added the police chief.

Sunday, September 18 at around 16.00 WIB, the group arrived at the Kompak Base Camp and then the closing ceremony and the wearing of the Berets were held for the 47th batch of 14 Youth NCOs, as well as the tumpengan tradition with the residents around the Kompak base camp.

The Chief of Police hopes that this tradition of beret can be a source of pride for the 14 Young Police Officers of the Tegal City Police and develop a sense of togetherness and solidarity among members of the Police.

"Through this traditional barbering activity and social service, we hope to foster a sense of pride, togetherness and solidarity for the youth non-commissioned officers. So that later they can always prioritize the human side in their duty to provide the best service to the community," said the Police Chief.
