Being Treated At The Bogor UMMI Hospital, Rizieq Shihab Asks Not To Be Visited

JAKARTA - The leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, is reportedly being treated at the UMMI Hospital in Bogor, West Java. This was confirmed by the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya.

"I have communicated with the leadership of the Ummi Hospital. That's right, Habib Rizieq was admitted to the hospital yesterday," Bima said when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, November 26.

Based on information obtained by Bima, Rizieq was treated for fatigue. Rizieq's health condition is currently quite good, but it will still be further examined by the hospital.

"He has been examined, and so far his health condition is good. But it will continue to be observed," said Bima.

At present, Bima said that Rizieq had not carried out a COVID-19 swab test because he did not experience symptoms of the corona virus. However, Rizieq currently does not want to be visited by other people.

"According to the hospital, he asked not to be visited because he wanted to rest," he said.

Contacted separately, PA 212 Chairman Slamet Maarif denied that Rizieq was undergoing treatment. Slamet said that Rizieq was limited to checking his general health.

"Alhamdulillah, he (Rizieq) is healthy, just a general check," said Slamet.

Regarding the potential for COVID-19 transmission, some time ago a number of representatives from the Tanah Abang Metro Police were sent to urge Rizieq to undergo a COVID-19 swab test on Saturday, November 21. This was done after receiving information that Rizieq was sick with characteristics suspected of being exposed to COVID-19.

However, Rizieq could not be found on the grounds that he was taking a break and did not receive guests. So, the police only appealed to Rizieq through his envoy from the front of the house fence.

Secretary of FPI DPP Legal Aid, Aziz Yanuar, said that the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Grand Imam, Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, had undergone a swab test. As a result, Rizieq Shihab was called negative for COVID-19.

"Habib Rizieq was tested yesterday (Sunday, November 22). The results came out today and were negative," Aziz told reporters, Monday, November 23.

Apart from Rizieq, Aziz also said that Rizieq's family had also tested negative for COVID-19. This result is known from the swab test along with Rizieq's examination. "His wife, children and son-in-law are also negative," said Aziz.

UMMI Hospital (RS UMMI), which is now in the spotlight because Rizieq Shihab was chosen as its treatment center, is a type C public hospital. UMMI Hospital is actually a priority for the health of mothers and children. This hospital was established on May 18, 2013 in Bogor.
