JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to residents' insistence that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government issue special rules to improve air quality in the capital city. Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had issued Governor's Instruction Number 66 of 2019 concerning Air Quality Control. However, this is not considered enough to help reduce air pollution. Therefore, Riza said that his party had the opportunity to follow up by making a governor regulation (pergub) or a governor's decision (kepgub). "We'll see later, the form can be pergub, Governor's Decree," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, September 16. Riza also responded to the one-year anniversary of the decision on the air pollution lawsuit filed by residents (citizen lawsuits) in front of the DKI Jakarta City Hall today. This former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives invited the public to voice their demands. "Later, we will consider the proposal and we will convey it. We are very open to who the inputs are in the context of improvements," he said. A group of civilians who are members of the Coalition for the Air Cleaning Initiative of the Universe Coalition (Ibukota Coalition) unfurled a poster warning DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in front of DKI Jakarta City Hall regarding air pollution lawsuits. Today, exactly one year the Panel of Judges of the Central Jakarta District Court won a citizen lawsuit regarding air pollution in Jakarta. In the decision, the panel of judges ordered the government to improve air quality. Representative of the Capital Coalition, Bondan Andriyannu admitted that his party wanted to collect Anies' promise to comply with the decision on the air pollution lawsuit. Because, Anies did not make an appeal against the decision. "The length of 365 days after winning the citizen lawsuit, air pollution is still a serious problem. We remind DKI Jakarta to implement its promises. So, we no longer need promises but what actions the government has taken to be able to give people in Jakarta this healthy air," said Bondan when met on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan. In this action, the Capital Coalition demonstrated a mannequin trapped in a plastic sheet. This exhibition is spread as a sign that people are currently falling into unhealthy air. "There is a mannequin that is vacuumed by air, this visualizes that if we don't immediately control this unhealthy air, it's as if people don't want to be pressed, breathe unhealthy air," said Bondan. Seeing the ineffectiveness of Ingub Number 66 of 2019, Bondan urged the DKI Provincial Government to be asked to make regional regulations (perda) or similar. This is intended so that the regulation also directly involves the community in controlling air quality. "We can't even monitor when the Ingub comes out. There should be a regional regulation or whatever the community is involved in," he added.
