JAKARTA - Chairman of the Pro Jokowi (Projo) volunteer Budi Arie Setiadi responded to the emergence of Joko Widodo's discourse as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) 'to be married' to Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. Budi assessed that Jokowi's discourse to become vice presidential candidate Prabowo could come from the dynamics and aspirations that developed in society. According to him, it is natural and does not violate the rules.

"The constitution allows. Politics is about the art of possibility. This discourse is legitimate. The so-called aspirations of the community cannot be banned. Whether it is realized or not, there are many variables," said Budi Arie Setiadi, Friday, September 16.

Moreover, in a constitutional manner, Budi continued, it is very clear that the nomination of a presidential candidate or vice presidential candidate is the right of a political party (political party) or a combination of political parties. "That's clear. But the presidential election is in the hands of the people because the people will vote at the TPS. The tenacity of the presidential election is the people's business," said Budi.

Budi then mentioned the phrase 'Ojo Kesusu' when Jokowi answered Projo's question regarding the figure of a presidential candidate who was supported in the 2024 presidential election.

Budi assessed that there was an expression related to Prabowo. Even though Jokowi's safe attitude was recognized so that he would not be seen spreading support for the figure of the Minister of Defense. "The relationship between Prabowo and Jokowi is very good. He is a leader of the nation who has a very high commitment to the progress of the country and improving the welfare of the people," said Budi Arie.

Previously, the chairman of the PDI-P Election Winning Body, Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul, said that it was very possible for Jokowi to become a vice presidential candidate if there was a political party carrying him in the election.

"If Mr. Jokowi wants to become vice president, he can really do it. However, the requirements are submitted by a political party or a combination of political parties," said Bambang at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 13.
