JAKARTA - Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (PKP) Sub-dept., Syarifudin, said that the fire on Jalan Mangga Besar XI, RT 10/06, Taman Sari, West Jakarta was caused by residents burning garbage.

"Initially there were residents who were burning garbage, so maybe they got wind and kept spreading to the next side of the house," said Syarifudin, Tuesday, September 13.

Syarifudin explained that his party received a report on the fire incident at around 12.33 WIB. Officers immediately rushed to the fire site with several fire engines.

Arriving at the location, officers found that the fire from the garbage burning site had spread to other buildings, totaling four houses.

"Meanwhile, four houses were burned down, but how many boarding houses were there, approximately 16 doors," said Syarifudin.

Officers also deployed 16 pump cars with a total of 80 personnel to control "the red rooster".

Officers were able to extinguish the fire at around 13.10 WIB. So far, continued Syarifudin, his party ensured that no casualties had been caused due to this fire incident.

He also ensured that all residents who were victims of the fire were evacuated to a safer place while waiting for help from the government.
